This first post is from the Publisher of the Manuel de la Torre Golf Books and Videos. I wanted to share this background.

My name is Jake Warde. I was a collegiate athlete, actually a tennis player. I went into publishing almost immediately following college. Several years later I had the opportunity to form my own publishing company. When I told my father, I would be focusing on sports publications, he insisted, "I have someone you need to meet." You see, my dad had been a serious student of Ernest Jones' swing principles. He had in fact taken lessons from the legendary instructor. But more recently my dad had visited the Milwaukee C.C. several times to learn from golf's leading modern-day proponent of Jones' swing principles, the great Manuel de la Torre.

I met Manuel in Carmel, CA in 1998. Manuel, explained he was writing a book that would be his definitive description of the golf swing. He asked if I could help and of course I agreed. We had a good meeting, but no commitments were made. A couple years later, a package arrived at the company unannounced. It was Manuel's manuscript of Understanding the Golf Swing along with twelve floppy disks he had saved the manuscript on. Suffice to say, it was a great day for the company; Manual had chosen us to produce the book!

The Double DVD Set:

Fresh from the success of the print release, it was clear golfers wanted to learn more from Manuel de la Torre. The development of a de la Torre DVD was an obvious next step. We worked in partnership with Ed LeBeau of Heartland Golf School to plan a strategy for communicating Manuel's deep knowledge in video format. Ed, it turns out is more than a golf professional, he is an accomplished media communicator. He wrote the script for the shoot and served as the "anchor" for the question and answer format used on the video. Over four fun-filmed days in October 2004, we filmed the content that is now the Double DVD set, and now available in streaming video!
